Kind, wise, gentle, caring, strong-willed, and assiduous work ethic.
These are words that come to mind when I describe my father-in-law Gus. He was a quiet man who worked hard well into his 81st year and he adored his wife. Even as his own health began to fail, he was more concerned for her well-being and needed reassurance that she was OK. She lost her battle with cancer January of this year. Gus joined her October 23, 2019.
While it is terribly sad to see him go, we take comfort in the peace that death brings after a long battle with illness. His suffering is over. There are no words to make it better. We remember him as the amazing man he was and strive to live up to his example.
