Professional Journey

Instructional Design & Learning Focus

As an instructional designer and learning consultant, I create programs that foster career growth and strengthen professional development. My work blends instructional design theory with practical application to deliver engaging, measurable learning experiences. Expertise areas include:

  • Program and curriculum design
  • Project management across the full lifecycle
  • Learning technologies and digital adoption
  • Career development coaching and training

I’ve guided associates through programs that led to measurable career growth, improved training processes, and advanced organizational learning goals.

From Classroom to Corporate

My career began in education, where I spent 18 years teaching social studies at the secondary and post-secondary levels. During this time, I completed a Master’s Program for teachers of American History in just two years, which opened doors to teaching at the college level and sparked my passion for adult learning.

The shift from teaching to corporate learning was inspired by my creation of a credit recovery program that helped students get back on track for graduation. That project revealed my strengths in program development and project management—skills I carried forward into corporate learning and development.

Early Corporate Contributions

In corporate roles, I’ve focused on combining instructional design with practical solutions to address business needs. Key contributions include:

  • Enhancing sales training programs, leading to measurable improvements in margins
  • Redesigning internal communication platforms to showcase learning opportunities
  • Developing virtual learning strategies during the pandemic to keep training accessible and effective

Transition to Financial Services

In 2023, I entered the financial services sector, beginning with a contract role at a large financial institution. There, I supported career growth by guiding multiple cohorts through development programs and providing coaching, resume preparation, and interview training that directly led to participant promotions.

At my current organization, also a large financial institution, I focus on technology and tools training. Highlights include:

  • Leading AI adoption efforts through practice labs, prompt libraries, and resource hubs
  • Implementing WalkMe, a Digital Adoption Platform (DAP), to improve access to training and streamline system use

Together, these experiences showcase my ability to advance careers while also helping employees adapt confidently to emerging technologies.

Guiding Philosophy

Across every role, I’ve embraced innovation and technology to design programs that deliver impact. My goal is simple: create learning experiences that drive professional growth while supporting organizational success.
